The 2009 Edition of the “International Conference for the Integration of Science and Technology into Society” (ICISTS) will be held in South Korea from August 20 to August 23, 2009. ICISTS-KAIST is a conference dedicated to providing a platform where university students from around the world can gather and discuss matters of significance in the realm of science and technology and how they impact the society, not only with other students who have similar interests but also with professionals invited as speakers.
The ICISTS-KAIST is a collaborative effort of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the undergraduate students at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, to encourage the debate on critical scientific and technological issues affecting modern society.
This year, the conference consists of three workshops, each with its own parallel sessions. They are titled: Climate change, Human-computer Interaction and Nano-clinic. To attend the forum you must write an essay and, if accepted, pay a small registration fee. The application period ends on June 30th, however, as an international student, if you apply before May 31st, you will be eligible for a discount.
